Ice Energy comes to Glendale, CA

Ice Energy has sealed the contract to start installing Ice Bear's on 28 municipal buildings. They will be freezing water during the evening and off peak energy hours, and during the day the ice will be used to cool the buildings.

The energy savings they calculate is as much as a cool 95%.

Recycling Water System

Pop Sci photographer John Carnett is building his dream home and documenting it all.

Recently he installed a Grey Water Recycling System which filters and reuses water runoff from sinks, showers and washing machines to flush the toilets in his new home.

He expects to be saving about 110 gallons a day. Additionally the wear on his septic system will be dramatically less as well.
